Lenovo Y520 M.2 Slot Ssd

Lenovo Legion Y520 - can't detect or recognize M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD I recently bought a Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN with i7-7700HQ-8GB-1TB-1050Ti. Since this Model supports another Storage Option(M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD), my plan is to add 256GB NVMe PCIe SSD so that i can use this 256GB SSD to run Windows 10 Pro x64 on it and have the 1TB formated for. The Y520 has only one M.2 PCIe SSD slot inside of it and any M.2 NVMe SSD should be compatible with it. M.2 is a hardware standard for internally mounted expansion cards that simply means the SSD was designed to fit into a laptop rather than a desktop computer.

  3. Thanks, it does seem like it is only possible to use NVMe SSD's to this M.2 slot, it's kind of annoying at how little information is available about this subject from Lenovo or the SSD manufacturers honestly. You could try contacting them, but all indications are that it's a NVMe slot only.
